MAGNA CARTA OF ONE PTA PH
One National Parent-Teacher Association – Philippines
PREAMBLE
We, the parents, guardians, teachers, education advocates, and community partners of the Republic of the Philippines, guided by the Constitution, the best interest of Filipino learners, and the principles of participatory governance, hereby establish the ONE NATIONAL PARENT-TEACHER ASSOCIATION – PHILIPPINES (ONE PTA PH). This Magna Carta defines our identity, principles, governance, and commitments as an independent national parent body.
ARTICLE I – NAME AND NATURE
1. The organization shall be known as ONE NATIONAL PARENT-TEACHER ASSOCIATION – PHILIPPINES (ONE PTA PH).
2. ONE PTA PH is a non-stock, non-profit, non-governmental, non-partisan, and independent national organization.
3. ONE PTA PH is distinct from and does not replace or supervise school-based Parent-Teacher Associations recognized by the Department of Education (DepEd).
ARTICLE II – PRINCIPLES
ONE PTA PH shall be guided by the following principles:
a. Primacy of the Child’s Welfare
b. Parental Empowerment and Responsibility
c. Independence from politics and government control
d. Transparency, accountability, and ethical leadership
e. Respect for teachers, schools, and education authorities
ARTICLE III – NON-PARTISAN AND NON-ENDORSEMENT POLICY
ONE PTA PH shall not endorse, support, or oppose any political candidate, political party, or partisan agenda. The organization shall not be used for political campaigning or electoral purposes at any level.
ARTICLE IV – PURPOSES AND OBJECTIVES
The purposes of ONE PTA PH are to:
1. Represent parents’ collective voice at the national policy level;
2. Educate parents on their rights, duties, and responsibilities;
3. Advocate against illegal school fees and abusive practices;
4. Promote child protection, student welfare, and inclusive education;
5. Build the capacity of PTA leaders nationwide.
ARTICLE V – RELATIONSHIP WITH DEPED AND OTHER STAKEHOLDERS
ONE PTA PH recognizes DepEd-recognized School PTAs as the primary parent organizations at the school level. ONE PTA PH operates at the national and policy advocacy level and engages DepEd, LGUs, and partners strictly in an observer, consultative, and collaborative capacity.
ARTICLE VI – GOVERNANCE
ONE PTA PH shall be governed by a National Council and Board of Trustees, led by a National Chairman, and guided by its Constitution and By-Laws.
ARTICLE VII – MEMBERSHIP
Membership shall be voluntary and governed by policies approved by the National Council, ensuring inclusivity, data privacy, and ethical conduct.
ARTICLE VIII – AMENDMENTS
This Magna Carta may be amended by a two-thirds (2/3) vote of the National Assembly, subject to ratification by regional representatives.
ARTICLE IX – EFFECTIVITY
This Magna Carta shall take effect immediately upon its signing and ratification by the founding officers and members of ONE PTA PH.What's a product or service you'd like to show.
